2 Things You Can Do Get Motivated Even If You Don’t Feel Like Doing Anything

Sometimes you have one of those days when you just don’t want to work towards your goals and dreams. “Normal” people give in to this habit on a regular basis. They are the same people that say,

“One of these days I’ll…”

But you aren’t one of them. It’s easy to become one of them because that is what most people do. But you don’t compare yourself to others, you compare yourself to your potential. When you do that, you realize that time is precious and short and you can’t waste a day because “you don’t feel like it.”

If everyone only worked when they felt like it, then no one would get anything done.

So here are 2 things that you can do when you just aren’t motivated to take action.

1. Just Do It For 5 Minutes
Writers know that it isn’t hard to write. It’s starting to write that is hard. So if you can just get started by tricking yourself by telling yourself you’ll do something for 5 minutes, often you’ll find that you want to keep going even after the 5 minutes has passed. This works whether it’s writing a book, doing yoga or making sales calls. Sometimes all you have to do is just get started.

Taking action will motivate you.

2. Do Something Fun

When I’m not motivated I give myself 5 or 10 minutes to just have some fun. For me it’s singing. If I’m feeling unmotivated, I open up youtube and pick the karaoke version of a song that I want to sing and I have some fun.

I find that when I’m finished, my heart is pumping and I can’t wait to get to work.

Some people don’t like karaoke. Others like to dance or watch funny videos or play video games. Whatever it is for you, I invite you to find those things that you find fun and motivating and do them for a short time.

Habits
Doing this is more important than you know, if you are constantly procrastinating because “you don’t feel like it”, it will turn into a habit. Stop procrastinating by taking action even if you don’t feel like it. Doing this will develop a good habit that will get you closer and closer to your goals and dreams.
