3 Message Sequence
After doing a quick introduction and building some rapport, instead of doing a canned spammy message when you are Facebook Prospecting try this message sequence instead.
1. Location and Occupation.
2. Prospecting Question.
3. Set Appointment

Quick Intro
This part is important when you are facebook prospecting.
Just introduce yourself and them a couple questions. Have a conversation and make a friend. You could even F.O.R.M them.

Location and Occupation
Once you have built some rapport the 1st step in Facebook Prospecting is asking them if they are still in the same city and still working the same profession that is listed in their profile. Many people may move or change jobs and they don’t update their Facebook Profile so it’s always good to double check that before you proceed into the next step of Facebook Prospecting.

Prospecting Question
Tell them that you are expanding your business in their location and ask them if they are open to more income.
Ex.
Great! I’m actually expanding my business in (Boston) do you at all open to making any money outside of being a (mailman)?

It’s a simple straight forward question. If they answer with a “no” then don’t go to the next step. You can still stay friends with this person. Their situation may change so keep in touch with them.

If they say yes, proceed to then next step of Facebook Prospecting.

Appointment
This is the point where many network marketers blow it. I never ever send a link when I am Facebook Prospecting unless I’ve already spoke to them on the phone. Even they are interested. The moment you send them a link, they have the power. Besides, sending a link on Facebook looks very unprofessional. The best thing that you can do is talk to them either on the phone or on skype. So set up an appointment with them.
“Great. I typically talk to someone on skype/phone if they want to get more information. A typical phone call only takes about 10-15 minutes. When are you typically available to chat and what is the best number to reach you at?”

That’s it!

Once you get this far, it’s just like prospecting someone that you met a networking meeting or someone that you met that wants more information.

When I’m on the phone with them, I find out a little bit more about what they are looking for and why they are looking for it. My objective for the phone call is to get them to look at the information and then call them back afterwards.

Those are the steps that will get you best results when you are Facebook Prospecting.
