The main reason why we do anything is to become happy. Happiness is what drives us. It’s what motivates us to improve and chase our dreams. Here are 3 simple things that anyone can do to become happier.

When you exercise, your body releases endorphins. Endorphins are hormones that make you feel good. They are the same hormones that are released when you are in love or when you get a rush of adrenaline. Exercising even if it’s for only 5 minutes will help you feel endorphins everyday.
If you don’t have a daily exercise routine, start small. Start with a 15 minute walk each day and feel the endorphins.
I know that it sounds cliché. Oprah has been talking about being grateful for years now. But if you dedicate just a couple of minutes each day to recognize what you are grateful for, you’ll realize how awesome your life really is!
Remember this. There is always someone who would be more than happy to trade their life for yours. Don’t take that for granted. Life may not be going how you wanted or how you plan but it is still incredible.
Everyday, take some time and be aware of what you are grateful for. As a bonus, if you also make sure to express gratitude in something that seems small or insignificant (like your shoe laces or a pen) you are also programing yourself to look for the positive.
3. Take action (even if it’s only for 5 minutes) towards your dreams everyday.
We get happy when we are making progress. The best way to make progress is to take action. Even if it’s something small or if it’s for only 5 mins every day, it adds up. Make each day count.
One of my coaching clients had wanted to author a book for over 5 years. They never seemed to have the time. I told them to find the time to write for at least 5 minutes each day (no matter how busy you are, you can find 5 minutes right?) 1 month later, they have over 30 pages written. It isn’t to hard to find time. Especially if you are making progress.
Meditation is the simple act of being present and observing your thoughts so that you are less reactive and emotional through out the day.
Start with 5 minutes a day. It’s something that takes practice but it’s worth it. Meditation is like working out, you won’t see results right away but soon you’ll wonder how you even survived before meditating every day.
