New Years Resolutions have a very low success rate. You’ve probably heard of the joke about the gym being full during the first 2 weeks of January but by the end of January, most of the people that weren’t really committed to their New Year’s Resolution are no longer there and the gym is back to “normal” again.

According to Forbes, only 8% of people actually achieve their New Year’s Resolutions. Don’t be part of the 92% that fail.

Use these 6 super simple things to help you keep your New Years Resolution.

1. Do Resolutions With A Group
There is a lot of power when you decide to do something. There is even more power when you decide to do something with a group. When you are in a group, you feel empowered. Sometimes you might look at others in a group and think, “If they can do it then I can certainly do it.” There is power in being part of a community or a movement. There is power in having your peers cheer your successes and that’s what doing resolutions with a group does.

2. Daily Journaling.

There is a reason why they recommend that you weight yourself everyday when you are trying to lose weight. There is a reason why my doctor told me to keep track of my blood sugar levels when I got diagnosed with diabetes. Just knowing where you are and how much that changes (for better or worse) with just a slight change in behavior can be very profound.

Everyday, keep track of your progress and your actions in a journal.
I recently saw a facebook post about doing 100 squats a day for 30 days and how much it could impact your life. I decided to do it. I had great help in staying consistent with this challenge simply because at the end of my day, my journaling included report that I had done my 100 squats for the day.

Daily journaling of your actions and your progress will help you stay consistent and is extremely motivating.

3. Be accountable to someone
This is a big one. Staying on track to get your goal isn’t about know what to do. It’s simply about doing it. If you want to stick to a diet or a work out routine or do a certain activity for your business like prospecting 10 people a day then being accountable to someone will help you.

No one wants to be the person who says, “I didn’t do what I promised I would do. I was too lazy and I let life get in the way.”

Having an accountability partner will help you get your goal simply because you don’t want to admit that you just didn’t want it that badly. You might be finishing your work day and you’ve prospected 9 out of 10 people. If you didn’t have an accountability partner you might think to yourself “9 out of 10 is good enough for today.” But if you have an accountability partner, you are more likely to prospect that last person and get your goal.
