A Simple Yet Powerful Change That Anyone Can Make To Become Happy Healthy And Wealthy

Happy, Healthy and Wealthy

If time and money weren’t an issue, what sort of hobbies would you enjoy doing?

I often talk to people about the way they make money. Some of them have a job and some of them have a business. Some of them are wildly successful and others are barely making it. Some love what they do and others hate what they do.

I do see some correlations and relationships.

Those that love what they do are happier and they are also making more money.

It seems to make sense. If you love what you do, then you’ll do it more often and you’ll be more productive. Since you are doing it more often, you are also improving. Since you love what you are doing, you’ll also be happier.

What If You Hate Your Profession
We all know someone that hates their job. I even see entrepreneurs that don’t like what they are doing, but they are driven to create value and income so that they can have enough time and money to finally do what they want to do. Many that take this approach do not make it.

If you don’t like what you do for a living, you’ll likely do it less, you won’t improve, you’ll be less productive and you’ll won’t make more money. You’ll just be stuck there for the rest of your life.

That is why loving what you do is so important to your success. It’s not so much how much you can make for doing a task, it’s how much you love doing the task. Don’t forget that there are uncomfortable parts to every profession so you don’t absolutely have to love everything about your profession.

Are You Just Out Of Luck?
If you are like most people and you don’t like what you do for a living, then all is not lost. Don’t worry, I know that you have bills to pay and a family to support so I understand that you can’t just quit your job and look for one that makes you happier. Not everyone has that luxury.

Monetize One Of Your Hobbies
If you don’t love what you are doing to make a living then why take one of your hobbies and monetize it? Find a way to make money doing what you love. It’s worth it to spend some time doing that.

Instead of hiding from life by watching TV or getting drunk with your buddies, why not spend that time figuring out how to make money doing something you love? Why wait until you have enough money and time to do the things that you love when you can make money doing by doing them right now?

Making money from one of our hobbies is something that any one of us could do. It could start off as a side project where you are simply making some petty cash but it could grow into something more concrete and become a full time income or even turn into life changing freedom income.

What would that look like?
Let’s take baking for example.
Baking is a hobby that usually costs money. You need to buy ingredients and you might need some equipment like an oven, mixing bowls, electric mixer, baking sheets etc. If it’s a hobby of yours, you might already have most of these things.

But if you decide that you would rather have your hobby of baking make you money instead of cost you money you might start and progress like this.

1. Sell baked goods
You could just bake stuff and sell it.
That might make enough for some pocket money or enough money to support your hobby.

2. Start a baking blog
Your blog could include trying out and critiquing new recipes. Your even sharing your own recipes. You might film yourself baking and make videos. You could get revenue from banner ads, affiliate links and youtube videos.

3. Start a TV show or write a book.
You’ll get better at baking I mean.. Why wouldn’t you get better? You love it so you’ll probably be baking a lot (which will give you more practice) but you’ll probably also be studying it because you find it so interesting. So as you get better at baking your youtube videos or blog might make you more popular. That exposure can turn into a TV show or a book deal. You don’t need to have special training to do that. If you don’t believe me, then ask Rachel Ray who (at least to my knowledge) doesn’t have any classical training as a chef.

4. Open a bakery or teach classes
You might get bigger and bigger that people will want your goods and to be taught by you. You could do what ever you want with it if you had enough passion. You could make it as big as you wanted. Or.. you could stop along the way if that what makes you happy. The point is that you are doing what you love.

What if you don’t make it far?
What if you only make a little pocket change? You may not be one of those that make it big but so what? It’s your hobby and at least it isn’t costing you money it’s making you money. At least you are living life rather than hiding from life by distracting yourself with the TV. (BTW… if watching TV is your hobby then at least find a way to monetize doing it ha ha)

Make a revenue stream out of your hobby or something your love, work that instead of late night drinking and watching a lot of television… years down the road you’ll be very glad you worked on hard setting up alternate future. ~Tony Durso
