It’s rare that I guarantee anything but would you like to know how to absolutely guarantee success?
Or course you would but is it really possible?
In order to develop a successful life you must have daily habits that ensure that you will have success. When someone looks at your habits everyday, they should think to themselves, “Of course, he’s successful, look at what he does everyday.”
Heads up: I’m offering a free audio mp3 so you can learn 6 Law of Attraction Life Hacks that will allow you to implement the Law of Attraction everyday in an effortless way.
Back in December, a Facebook friend of mine had posted a squat challenge. The challenge was simple, do 100 squats each day for 30 days. To me, that sounded hard to do. Especially if you consider that I didn’t really have an exercise routine at that time. There were testimonials of people saying they had lost some weight and felt healthier so I thought that I would give it a try. I figured that I could do anything for 30 days.
The first week was a struggle but it got easier by the second and third week and by the 4th week it was easy. It had also become a habit so I kept going. I’m now approaching the 200th day. I also added to my habit. I now do pushups, crunches, walking and yoga every day. My friends and family have noticed that I’ve lost weight and that I’m looking healthier. Wouldn’t you look and feel healthier if you went from no exercise to doing squats, push ups, crunches and yoga everyday?
Start Slow And Build Momentum
If you do decide to start a new habit to ensure your success (and I hope you do), don’t make the mistake of overwhelming yourself.
I didn’t take on the squat challenge with the intention of starting a habit but it just happened to work out that way. If I had started with all of those exercises all at once, I probably would have gotten burned out and quit (just like most people who try to lose weight). Even when I decided to add pushups to my daily routine, I didn’t start with 90 (which is what I do now). I started with 10 and I built from there.
If you decide that you want to write a book, don’t try to start with writing 2 hours a day if you currently write 0 minutes each day now. First build a habit and maybe start with writing 15 mins each day. Anyone who writes 15 mins each day will eventually get better at writing and have something substantial written within a year. 15 mins of writing each day may not sound like a lot but it yields more results than trying to write for 2 hours each day and burning out in less than a week.
Take a goal that you want to be successful with and start with a habit that is easy to do once a day. Once you build the habit, then if you want, you can add more to your activity. Eventually you’ll have a daily routine that will ensure success with your goal.
If you want to be a better singer, then sing each day. Even if it’s for just 15 minutes.
If you want to be a better dancer, then dance each day. Even it’s just a little bit.
If you want to be a better writer, then write each day. Even if it’s just one page or one sentence.
If you want to be a better salesman, then prospect each day. Even if it’s just 5 people a day.
If you want to start a habit, just do it for 30 days. You can do anything for 30 days. After 30 days, it may just turn into a habit.
It worked for me with the exercises. It has also worked for me for everything that I do in my morning and evening routines including meditation and visualization. You can read more about my morning and evening routines right here: http://kennysantos.com/?s=routine&submit=
Even if you chose to start a habit that seems insignificant (like 10 pushups each day), when it’s compounded it will yield tremendous results even if you don’t increase your activity.
