Negative self talk happens to everybody.
It doesn’t matter if you are extremely successful in life or you feel like your failing. Sometimes (or more often for most people) you’ll have that voice in your head that tells you that you aren’t good enough. Sometimes you say it out loud, maybe to yourself in the mirror.
Self Sabotaging thoughts happen to everybody, it’s how people respond to them that makes the difference between a life of despair, mediocrity or pride.
Your mind does not have time to think negatively if you are working so use that to your advantage.
If you start to have self sabotaging thoughts then use that as a signal to take action.
It could be taking a walk, working on your future or doing something fun.
Do something to keep you from wallowing in self pity and despair.
Replace Negative Self Talk with Action
It doesn’t always have to be something that will help you grow like exercising, working on your business or writing a book but it does have to be something that will stop you from the negative self talk.
Treat negative self talk like a screen saver on a computer. The screen saver on a computer will only go on if the computer is running idle. The same goes for your self sabotaging thoughts, they will only start if you are doing nothing.
The only way to stop the screen saver is to wiggle the mouse, or strike a key and start working so do the same thing with your life when the negative self talk starts. Take action.
