MLM Facebook Prospecting
Many companies and leaders are suggesting that you prospect on social media. However, most network marketers don’t know how.
There is a big difference between knowing how to prospect and putting a link on your profile and hoping someone clicks on it and responds to it.
To understand how to prospect efficiently on social media, you have to understand why people go on to social media in the first place.
4. To Learn
People do NOT go to Facebook to buy.
If you are putting a link on your profile that says,
“Come buy (my product) it does X, Y and Z. It’s scientifically proven by Dr. (blanketly blank) from (Ivy League or prestigious) University. www.theywon’tclick.com”
It just won’t get a lot of response. Maybe you’ve heard that posting your link doesn’t work so instead you ask them to message you. That still won’t get a response. People don’t go on to social media to shop. If you’ve tried that then you’ve experience the lack of response.
2 things happen when you post a link or your product/company name
1. You look just like everyone else. A lot of people are using the same strategy, you’ll just be another person posting about XYZ company. You’ll get lost in all of the noise.
2. They will look up your company and product on google. When they do that, there is 99.9% chance that they will see something negative on the first page and they’ll make an uniformed decision.
Instead of posting a link or talking about a product, just teach. One of the reasons why people come on to social media is to learn so you might as well teach them.
Teach something that your target audience wants to know.
If you are selling a weight loss shake, then your target audience might be people that want to lose weight. What do people that want to lose weight want to know?
May be its:
The (4) fat burning foods
The (7) exercises that will target your love handles
The (5) negative calorie vegetables
If you are selling an anti aging cream then your target audience might be people that want to look younger. What do these people want to know?
The (7) ingredients in most cosmetics that will damage your skin
The (3) fruit extracts that reverse the agining process
The morning routine that will reduce wrinkles and bags around the eyes
I think that you get the idea, just build an audience and build some authority by teaching your audience instead of selling to them. Once you build an audience, you can occasionally talk about your product but don’t put up a link, simply mention your product and make your audience ask for the link. You’ll also have people reaching out to you and that’s when you can mention your products. They are more likely to buy from you because they see you as an authority.
