Something Magic Happens when you know this…

What I didn’t talk about was the magic that happens when you know what your MLM prospecting ratio is.
Once you know your MLM prospecting ratio, 3  things happen
1. You talk to more people
2. You don’t care if people say no
3. Your prospects see you as more professional (the biggest benefit)

Regardless your background or current ability to talk to people you don’t know… You can absolutely master prospecting your network marketing business starting right now. You talk to more people? Why is that?
Once you know your MLM prospecting ratio, you will talk to more people.
Let’s pretend that your ratio is 15 to 1. You have to talk to 15 people to get one sale.
Once you know that you have to talk to 15 people, then you get excited about talking to the next person and collecting their decision.

You don’t care if people say no? How come?
Since you know that it’s just about talking to more people, then once you ask someone an MLM prospecting question, all you care about is their answer. If it is a no, then you know that you only have to talk to 14 more people to get closer to a yes. Every time you hear a “no”, you mentally say to yourself, “cool, 13 more to go,” then “12 more to go,” and then “11 more to go,” and so on.

Why do your prospects see you as more professional?
MLM has gotten a bad reputation mostly because most network marketers just don’t know when to stop. When they hear a “no” they try to convince their prospect to buy or join by cramming a lot of hype down their throat.
All of the “hypey” talk and all of the nagging and convincing stops once you realize that they are a no and that you should move on to the next person.
You may even think like this,
“Bob would never join but I need to find 14 people to say ‘no’, I guess Bob could be one of them.”
If you ask Bob and his answer is “no” and you don’t start the convincing game, you’ll look more professional.

Sample MLM Prospecting Conversation from someone that doesn’t know their ratio
You: Bob, would you be open to a side project if it didn’t interfere with what you are currently doing?
Bob: Not really.
You: Are you sure we have the best comp plan and it’s ground floor with a break through product. Blah blah blah.

Sample MLM Prospecting Conversation from someone that DOES know their ratio
You: Bob, would you be open to a side project if it didn’t interfere with what you are currently doing?
Bob: Not really.
You: That’s cool. If you change your mind, let me know.

In the first example, the conversation could lead to an argument and possible a weird situation every time you see Bob at a social event or a family gathering. He may even avoid you.

In the second example, the next time you see Bob at a social event, you can talk normally because nothing “weird” happened.

The bottom line is this, learn what your MLM prospecting ratio is and you’ll be a more successful and a more professional network marketer.
