Many people go to the wrong groups.
They try the work from home groups or the stay at home mom, or the home based business groups.
Have you ever gone to those types of groups and seen what’s happening?
It just looks like a lot of noise, everyone is talking but no one is listening.
Every post says “Join my team!” because:
1) we are ground floor
2) we have the best comp plan
3) our product is a scientific break through
Everyone is too busy talking about themselves and their opportunity that they can’t hear anyone else.
If you look at the posts, there is little to no engagement. No likes, no comments.
What kinds of groups should you go to?
Before you think about the types of groups that you should prospect at, think about what you like to do.
Think about your hobbies.
Ask yourself: “If time and money were not an issue, what would I spend my time doing?”
Maybe it’s fishing, maybe it’s running or yoga, maybe it’s travel.
Everyone has different interests and hobbies.
Now go to groups that resonate with your hobby.
How to prospect on Facebook
When you go to the different groups, you’ll find people that you resonate with.
Don’t make the mistake of posting your link on that group because it’s not congruent.
People go to the group to talk about their hobby, not to join a business.
If you post a link about your business on one of those groups, it will just get recognized as spam.
Instead, engage with the people there.
Like and comment on the posts.
Participate in the conversations and you’ll meet new people and you’ll make new friends.
It’s those people that you should reach out to in a private message.
Get to know these people and when it’s appropriate, perhaps bring up your business.
People do business with those that they know, like and trust.
You already have one hobby in common with them so it will be easier to get to know them more.
Ask them how often do you get to fish (or whatever your common hobby is)?
They may respond by saying, “I don’t get to do it as often as I like because I work so much.”
“I don’t get to do it as often as I would like to because I don’t have the money.”
If they are expressing that they would like to to their hobby more but they don’t have the time or the money, that’s a great time to bring up your business opportunity.
Now if you want to get really good at recruiting on fb, then I suggest you attend this free training by Jessica Higdon. It’s called the Social Media Local Prospecting Formula
