Today’s post is short sweet and to the point.
Do you want to know what to say when you prospect?
Many Network marketers don’t even try to prospect because they don’t know what to say.
When you are prospecting, keep the 1st agreement for marketers in mind.
I learned this agreement from Kim Klaver‘s book, “If my product is so great, How Come I can’t Sell it?”
Kim’s First Agreement for Marketers:
Let go of the 9 out of 10 that won’t buy.
When you are talking to a prospect, 9 out of 10 times, they won’t buy no matter what you say. So instead of worrying what to say, take the pressure off of yourself and find out if they are open.
If they are open then move on with the conversation.
If they aren’t then move on to the next person.
What should I say?
Many network marketers seem to think that they have to convince someone after they say no.
Or that they need to know how all the wording to overcome all objections.
But it doesn’t matter what you say 9 out of 10 times. So you can just relax.
Can you improve that ratio?
Is it always 9 out of 10?
You can actually improve on that.
If you are really good, you can get it down to 7 out to 10.
It’s not so much what you say, it’s more about how confident and comfortable you are when you prospect.
How do you improve on it?
The best way to improve that ratio isn’t by studying what to say.
The best way to improve that ratio is by talking to more people.
When you practice and talk to more people, you’ll have more product knowledge, you’ll have better intonation, and you’ll have better confidence. You’ll find out what words work best for you.
Since it doesn’t matter what you say 9 out of 10 times, make sure that you talk to more people.
Say less to more people.
Don’t worry so much as to what to say. Worry about how many people you are talking to.
Don’t try to convince them. Just move on to the next person.
9 our of 10 times it’s not you (or what you say), it’s them. So you can take the pressure off yourself and just relax.
