How Social Media Affects Your Life
Social media will affect your life and for most people, it affects your life in a negative way and they don’t even realize it.
Of course there is the way that a lot of people do know about and it’s about how people just happen to waste a lot of time on social media. They allow it to interfere with their life by turning on push notifications on their phone or just staring at the computer or phone screens for long periods of time.
But it also negatively influences your mind.
So many things that are trending are negative.
-The United Airlines Incident
– The video of the guy killing people in Cleveland (no I haven’t seen it and don’t intend to)
– Jeff Varner outing Zeke as transgender on reality TV
There is a mob mentality on social media. When somebody does something wrong, it’s easy to hide behind your phones or your screen and join everyone else in scolding the wrong doer. People do things and say things that are mean while thinking, “It’s ok to be mean, everyone else is doing and they deserve it because of what they did.”
Just remember this, everybody makes mistakes and does things that they regret. Unfortunately for some people, the things they do wrong are put on display for all the world to see and they are judged by total strangers for it.
Why Are People So Quick To Scold And Judge?
There are 2 things that people do to make them look better to others and feel better about themselves.
1. Get better
The best way to look better to others and feel better to ourselves is to get better. Do something that brings value to the world. Get educated. Read books. Learn a skill. Get healthier. Write a book. Teach a class. Entertain. There are so many ways to bring value to the world.
2. Knock Others Down
There are some people that are too lazy to better themselves so in order for them to look better or feel better, they feel the need put others down. They are quick to point out other people’s flaws.
If you participate, share or observe those conversations that knock others down, I want you to realize that isn’t serving you. They aren’t positive for you and they are taking you further away from your goals.
Every moment spent, participating and observing in negative conversations are moments that you are not growing. You cannot grow in anger.
I’m not saying to get off of social media, but I am saying that you need to be aware of the negative and avoid it so it doesn’t affect you.
Did This Help You?
If so, I would greatly appreciate it if you commented below and shared on Facebook.
