The Power Of Routine
Almost a year ago, I started a simple routine that blossomed into some big changes in my life.
Before I share that simple routine with you, I want to make it clear that it wasn’t just this routine that’s completely responsible for changing my life. It is however how everything started. I started one good habit and it lead to another and then another.
Good habits, lead to more good habits. So all you have to do is start one good habit and it could lead to chain reaction to a brand new life.
One day, while watching Shark Tank and I saw a pitch for Sworkit . It’s a simple exercise app. I downloaded it and decided I would try doing some yoga. I ended up doing 10 minutes of yoga everyday for the last 48 weeks.
This small change, lead to more changes in the past year. I didn’t realize that it would happen but my simple habit of 10 minutes of daily yoga lead to other habits being formed. The power of routine made me more opened minded to try other things that would help me.
Since I’ve started the daily habit of yoga, I’ve added these to my daily habits as well.
-100 squats each day: I started a 100 squats/day for 30 days challenge and I just kept going after 30 days. I’ve since added push-ups and crunches to my daily routine.
-10k steps each day
-I read 1 scroll from “The Greatest Salesman In the World” 3 times a day. If you read this great book by Og Mandino then you know how this works.
-a night time routine of stretching and a ACV and honey elixer that I learned from Tim Ferriss
I’m happier. This one is hard to measure but I just feel better. I get into less arguments, I’m more grateful and I’m easier to be around.
I’m healthier. I’ve slimmed down over 20 pounds, I have better sleep, I have more energy and I have more muscle definition in my body.
I’m wealthier. I’m making more money and there is more money in my bank account.
Change Your Life
Since you now understand that one simple change can jump start your life, then I invite you to make 1 change in your life.
If you are in network marketing and you need to make a change, then talk to just one person a day.
If you want to get healthier just start the momentum by doing 10 push ups a day.
If you want to write a book. Just start by writing for 15 minutes a day.
The point is to start. Take action no matter how small it may seem. That small action will compound and bring results which will lead to more changes and more results and one day you’ll look at your life and realize that it’s different and measurably better.
“People who succeed have momentum. The more they succeed, the more they want to succeed, and the more they find a way to succeed. Similarly, when someone is failing, the tendency is to get on a downward spiral that can even become a self-fulfilling prophecy.” ~Tony Robbins
What change will you start today that will lead to a different you a year from now?
