The True Reward Of Integrity [video]

Integrity is something that we look for.People we do business with.
People we have romantic involvement in.
Our friends.

We all want to be recognized as someone that keeps their word.

Keeping your integrity makes you look more trustworthy to others, while on the flipside, breaking your integrity makes you look wishy washy.

But it’s more than that.

The true reward of keeping your integrity is about keeping a promise to yourself.

Recently, I went to the CN tower with my son.
I had decided that I was going to stand on the glass floor.

For those that don’t know, the glass floor at the CN tower is quite an experience, especially for those that are scared of heights (I certainly am)

When I got there, I was scared.
Frozen scared.

I didn’t think that I was going to do it.
I thought to myself, “It’s no big deal if I don’t do this.”

But then I thought to myself, “If I don’t do this, it will be one more thing that I promised myself that I would do and come up short yet another time.”

I told myself, “If I can do this, I can do anything.”

IMG_20150710_133028The fact that I stepped on the glass floor at the CN Tower isn’t that big of a deal. In fact, dozens of people were doing when I was there. Some of them were little children.
Dozens of people were afraid to go just like I was.

The real reward was keeping a promise to myself.

Success is a habit and so is failure.

If you aren’t making your goals (You know those goals that you know you can make if you work your tail off. Those goals that if you achieved them, life would be different. Yes those goals!) because you aren’t trying, then I guess you don’t want it bad enough. You can make all the excuses you want to others.

Excuses that others before you have overcome.
No education.
No money.
Not smart enough.
No time.
Don’t have supportive friends, parents, family or spouse.

But deep down inside, you know that you just too lazy. You just don’t want it bad enough.

The one thing worse than an excuse, is an excuse that you actually believe is the reason why you are failing.

You are failing because you aren’t working hard enough. You are failing because you quit.

I wouldn’t let that happen to me that day at the CN Tower. Was I scared?
Yes I was!  ore than I can explain. But I did it anyway.

It`s awesome when you keep a promise that you make to yourself but it`s heart breaking when you break a promise that you have made to yourself.

Create a great day!
